Brett Linzmeier exploded for 15 points in the third quarter on four 3-pointers and the Two Rivers boys basketball team defeated visiting non-conference foe Luxemburg-Casco 61-43 on Tuesday night.
Liznmeier finished with a game-high 25 points and five 3-pointers while teammate Brett Kasper had 10 points on two 3-pointers.
Kasper had a team-high 11 rebounds for Two Rivers (2-2) while Linzmeier was second with 10.
Until the third quarter the game was a back-and-forth affair featuring lengthy runs and droughts by each team.
The Raiders, who never trailed in the game, began on a 5-0 run and after leading 12-9 entering the second quarter went on an 8-0 run to make it 20-9 with 3:48 left in the first half.
But Luxemburg-Casco (1-3) rebounded by going on an 11-0 run to make it 20-20 and at halftime Two Rivers led 22-20.
Linzmeier finished the half with seven points — with no 3-pointers — and seven rebounds while Brett Kasper had a then-team-high of eight points.
Aided by Linzmeier’s outburst, the Raiders began the second half on a 10-run and never looked backed as they scored more points in the frame — 23 — than they did in the entire first half to make it 45-28 entering the final quarter.
Individual and team statistics for Luxemburg-Casco were not submitted to the Herald Times Reporter as of press deadline.
