The Valders boys basketball team dispatched visiting New Holstein 81-75 on Friday in a tightly contested match, with two Valders players scoring more than 20 points.
Thomas Schwoerer scored a team-high 32 points for the Vikings (1-0) while teammate Forrest Fenlon added 23.
Valders took a 43-39 lead into halftime and never looked back, with Schwoerer and Fenlon hitting five and three 3-pointers, respectively, to control the game.
The Vikings return to action on Nov. 17 when they host Reedsville.

The visiting Raiders started out fast, taking a 17-12 lead after the first quarter but fell behind 26-23 at halftime and never recovered.
Brett Linzmeier led Two Rivers in scoring with 20 points while teammate Dexter Smith added 12.
