Prep cross country: Lincoln girls, boys each finish 7th


The Manitowoc Lincoln girls and boys cross country teams each finished seventh at Saturday’s 12-team Kimberly-hosted WIAA Division 1 Sectional Meet and failed to qualify for the WIAA State Cross Country Meet as a team.

The Ships also did not qualify any individuals for State.

Ending with 231 to finish behind winner Green Bay East’s 50, the Lincoln boys had five individuals place in the top 60.

The Ships were led by junior Mike Thompson who was 16th with a time of 17:52.91 behind Green Bay East winner Armando Torres’ 16:19.35.

For the girls, the Ships had five individuals finish in the top 45.

Lincoln was led by senior Taylor Albright’s 17:07.81 which was behind Green Bay Preble winner Jill Englebert’s 15:42.63.
