Prep cross country: Pair of streaks come to an end

Two streaks ended in Saturday’s cross country state finals at MIS.

The East Lansing girls of coach Bob Brown had finished in the top seven in Division 2 for seven straight years (4-3-5-7-5-4-7) before taking 22nd in Division 1 on Saturday.

And the Potterville boys of coach Dan Brunk saw a streak of Division 4 top 10 finishes end at eight years in a row (3-7-10-1-1-4-4-4) when the Vikings didn’t qualify for state at a tough regional that included six of the state’s top 10 teams.
