Fourcast

A VETERAN GROUP

After suffering through a winless 2011 (0-9), the Orioles return 19 starters including second-team all GAC running back Mike Mortimore and honorable mention offensive lineman Mark Copeland. The entire offensive backfield returns led by senior quarterback Josh Stambaugh. Defensively, nine starters are back, six of them seniors.

A TOUGH LEAGUE

This will be the Orioles’ third season in the GAC Blue and they are still looking for their first conference win. Morrice gave Burton Bentley a battle in week one last season, falling 19-14 and put up 28 points against Dryden in their final game before falling 43-28.

SIZE A STRENGTH

The Orioles are big along both lines, with all five offensive starters and three defensive lineman tipping the scales at 220 or heavier.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO

After the past two seasons, the Orioles’ main focus is on getting that first GAC win under their belts. Coach Brad Long feels that with improved tackling and more aggressive play on both sides of the ball, this veteran group can be competitive in every game.
