MILACA – St. Cloud Cathedral junior quarterback Jeff Fasching finished with 190 passing yards and three TD passes as St. Cloud Cathedral cruised past Milaca 42-18 in a Granite Ridge Conference game Friday night.

Junior running back Nick Manthey racked up 117 yards on 12 carries on the ground and added two scores for the Crusaders (2-2, 3-3), who scored on five straight possessions at one point.

Milaca was led by Jeson Erickson, who scored on a 4-yard run and an 18-yard pass.

PAYNESVILLE – The Bulldogs forced five turnovers and held LQPV (3-3, 3-3) to 33 yards rushing on their way to a dominating win.

Anthony Johnson had a big night for Paynesville with 20 carries for 208 yards with a 73-yard TD run. Nick Dingmann had a 35-yard interception return for a TD along with two TD catches.

Paynesville (3-3, 3-3) rushed for 299 yards with Nathan Meyer getting 14 carries for 69 yards.

Quarterback Austin Ostrander carried the ball 14 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for 63 yards and two more touchdowns. Sam Long carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns himself.

Nick Adams had 11 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown to lead the Mainstreeters. Josh Buschette caught a pair of touchdown passes.

Josh Lanners had 15 carries for 138 yards with three TDs for Pierz (4-1 CMC, 5-1 overall), Tyler Millner had eight carries for 95 yards with a TD and Nathan Athman had 10 carries for 69 yards with two TDs.

Pierz didn’t complete a pass in the game. The Pioneers had a 33-0 halftime lead.

The Huskers’ Taylor Milbrandt had two catches for 49 yards, Jon Skwira had 13 total tackles and Jordan Gombos returned a kick 85 yards for a TD to open the second half.

Kimball’s Cameron Hunt threw for 140 yards and a TD. He also scored on a quarterback sneak in the third quarter, but the Cubs missed an extra point.

BELGRADE – Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa bullied previously undefeated Maple Lake behind junior Austin Kollman’s 214 rushing yards.

Kohlman finished with one of the Jaguars’ two scores with the other coming from fellow running Patrick Rooney, who fnished 79 receiving yards and one score on the ground.

Maple Lake was previously ranked fifth in Class 2A. Irish’s lone score came from quarterback Cal Redemske, who scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter. Redemske came into the game averaging 189 yards a game, but finished with 88 yards against the Jaguars (3-2, 3-3).

MELROSE 28, INTERNATIONAL FALLS 14

GRAND RAPIDS – Senior Trevor Sawyer carried the load for Melrose by scoring all four Dutchmen touchdowns and tallying 203 yards on 36 carries.

With the score knotted at 14 at the half, Melrose pushed past International Falls thanks to two second-half touchdowns by Sawyer.

Melrose (3-3) didn’t complete a pass in the contest, but it didn’t matter as the Dutchmen finished with 367 yards on the ground.

International Falls was led by quarterback Gunnar Anderson, who threw two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions.

NEW LONDON – Andrew Russek caught a touchdown and ran one in to lead Annandale past New London-Spicer.

Annandale led 28-14 before the Wildcats added a touchdown with a minute to play in the fourth quarter.
