LONG PRAIRIE – Luke Wentland’s 88-yard punt return with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter lifted Royalton to a 19-14 nonconference win over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle. The two teams play in different divisions of the Prairie Conference.
The Royals defense held the Thunder scoreless on the two possessions after Wentland’s return.
Tyler Hegna led Royalton in rushing with 69 yards. LPGE outgained the Royals 193-180. Jack Fulford had 10 tackles to lead the Royalton defense and Jake Wentland had a sack and four tackles for Royalton.
