WRIGHTSTOWN – The Tigers did what they have done best over the years, run the football.

Wrightstown rushed for 403 yards and two touchdowns on 55 carries to defeat the Kewaunee Storm 30-7 in a battle of Olympian/Packerland-Large favorites on Friday night in a prep football opener.

Riley Schussler rushed for 213 yards on 27 carries.

Kewaunee was led by Austin Kassner who gained 51 yards on eight carries

HORTONVILLE – The Polar Bears turned in a solid game offensively and defensively despite being down starters on both sides of the ball.

The Hortonville defense allowed Shawano just 142 total yards while the Polar Bears rolled up 298 yards.

Quarterback Andrew Thompson threw three touchdown passes and 212 yards on the night. His first TD pass came just nine seconds before the half and gave the Polar Bears a 7-0 lead.

Willems finished with 173 yards through the air while Ethan Peters scampered for 83 yards to lead the Spartan rushing attack.

Bill Pence rushed for 115 yards and a score to lead the Bulldogs, and also connected for a 48-yard field goal at the end of the first half.
