The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association announced its All-State selections on Wednesday with Two Rivers senior quarterback Brett Kasper being selected to the first team.
Kasper was the lone area player to make the first team while teammate Dexter Smith, a senior wide receiver, and Manitowoc Lincoln’s Austin Bown, a senior defensive end, were named honorable mentions.
Kasper broke six school single game performance records, six season performance records and one career record as he helped the Raiders finish the regular season second in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference at 7-1 overall and 6-1 in conference. Two Rivers additionally won its first game of the WIAA Division 3 State Football Tournament 22-19 over visiting Menasha, the program’s first playoff win in 22 years.
Kasper completed 224-of-326 passes for 2,435 yards to go with 28 touchdowns and a 108.9 passer rating. His yards and touchdowns were second in the state through nine games. He also led the team with 575 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns.
Smith currently ranks fourth in the state in receiving yards with 1,113 and was third in receptions with 68. Smith was also tied for fifth in receiving touchdowns with 14.
Kasper and Smith were each All-EWC first-team selections.
Bown, a first-team All-Fox River Classic Conference selection and Defensive Lineman of the Year, had 20 solo tackles, 12 assisted tackles and five tackles for losses. The 6-foot-6-inch standout recorded six sacks and forced two fumbles — recovering one.
