Williamston opened its season with junior Ryan Watters at quarterback, but a shoulder injury forced him to the sidelines in the team’s second game.
He returned to the Hornets (4-3) on Sept. 28, but last Friday, in a 26-21 win against Corunna, was the first time he attempted all of the team’s passes since the injury. Watters played well under center, completing 7 of 12 passes for 113 yards and rushing the ball 17 times for 69 yards, including a second quarter touchdown that put the team up 26-0. Sophomore Chaz Moore had filled in for Watters in his absence.
