Julia’s thoughts:

“I think our team is doing well. We had a few early losses this year, but we’ve also come out with some pretty narrow victories as well. The Olympian Conference is so competitive this season. On any given night any team can beat anybody. We don’t have to be the best team. We just have to be the better team each night we lace up our shoes to play a game. Not only do our coaches push us to practice hard, but as a team we also encourage each other to mentally remain focused during practice so that it carries over to games. Our goal is to make it to playoffs and be quite competitive once we get there.”

Coach Dave Jirikowic’s thoughts:

“Julia is one of our team captains this year and this is without a doubt so far her most complete season that she’s played on varsity. She has been on varsity since her sophomore year and she is a great post player for us. She is not the tallest girl that you would envision as a post player, but she is very intelligent in terms of positioning herself so that she gets good angles to the basket. She has really improved as well on her outside shooting so she has now developed her game so she isn’t just a good inside shooter but also she can hit the outside shot.”
