Tyler Skye won the game for the Colts, finishing a ball in a crowd off a throw in with less than two minutes to play. Cumberland had taken a 3-2 lead early in the second half, but Lions freshman Tyler Lunsford answered back a minute and a half later.
Egg Harbor Twp. 2
Senior Scot Price scored twice for the Thunderbolts in a preview of the Group IV South opening round game. Egg Harbor scored on a penalty kick in the first half, then sent the game to overtime when Millville knocked the ball into its own net with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
Cape May Tech 2
Miguel Hernandez scored twice and Josue Guadarrama added a goal as the Chiefs held off Cape May Tech on Thursday. Zayne Czeronka, Taylor Cheli and AJ Gazzara all had assists for Buena in the win.
Sacred Heart 3,
The Lions ended their season on a high note, claiming their third victory of the season. Senior Brooke Farside scored her first career goal and Gina Giannone and Jana Martini each added tallies. Sacred Heart keeper Gabby Castilini saved a penalty kick in the second half when the Lions were nursing a one-goal lead. It was the fourth PK Castilini has saved this year.
Egg Harbor Twp. 3
In a preview of the Group IV South opening round, the Thunderbolts prevailed. Junior defender Nicki Read scored the game-winner on a penalty kick for a handball with 10 minutes left in the game. Senior Brianna Robinson had a pair of goals, both assisted by Read. McKenzie Taylor and Paige Mason split time in the net to earn a share of the victory.
Schalick 3, OT
The Cougars’ Tiernny Wiltshire tied the game with a long-distance shot with four minutes left in regulation. Sophomore forward Tori Miller scored twice for Delsea.
The Cougars celebrated Senior Day in style with three unanswered goals, including two in the second half, en route to a home win. Julie Wriggins gave Schalick a 2-1 lead with her second goal of the season with 15 minutes left in regulation. Jessica Harrell added an insurance goal, her 10th, six minutes later. Gabi Mosley gave Cumberland a 1-0 lead in the first half before Schalick’s Ashley Creighton tied it up.
