Prep roundup: Heritage Christian soccer gets third straight shutout

Heritage Christian recorded its third straight shutout and scored more than three goals for the fifth consecutive match Thursday at home against Union Colony. Heritage Christian won the match 10-0.

Senior Matthew McGinley scored four goals and added an assist.

The Eagles next play Nederland at home on Tuesday.

POUDRE 2, BOULDER 1 — Senior Manny Macias scored in the 65th minute to snatch victory for the Impalas after Boulder equalized in the 64th.

Poudre improved to 8-4-1 (3-4-1 FRL) and will play Fort Collins next on Tuesday.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN 4, MONARCH 0 — Senior Dylan Kengott drilled a header in near the end of the first half and the Lobos converted on two penalty kicks in the second frame.

Cody Prochazka and Mitch Cooper scored from the spot for Rocky.

The Lobos record is now 6-5-2 (4-2-2 FRL). They will play Fort Collins on Thursday.

VOLLEYBALL

ROCKY MOUNTAIN 3, MONARCH 0 — The experienced duo of Ashton Mares and Desi Klaer lead Rocky Mountain to its fifth consecutive win.

Mares finished with 20 kills while Klaer had 16 in the match.

The Lobos improve to 10-6 (7-1 FRL) and will take the court again Tuesday at home against Greeley West.

FOSSIL RIDGE 3, MOUNTAIN RANGE 0 — The SaberCats won their ninth consecutive league game behind 23 digs by sophomore Shannon Lanza.

“Her passing allowed us to run some very powerful and fast offense,” Fossil coach Paul Shimek said.

Fossil next plays Tuesday at home against Loveland for Senior Night.

FRONT RANGE CHRISTIAN 3, LIBERTY COMMON 2 — A triple double by junior Maria Lanciotti wasn’t enough for the Eagles as they lost for the second time in three games.

Lanciotti finished with 18 digs, 16 kills, and 17 assists to go along with four aces and three blocks in a dominant all-around effort.

Liberty will hit the court again Tuesday against Denver Christian.

DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN 3, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 1 — The Ealges lost for the third time in their last six games despite six aces and 20 digs from junior Mariah Green and eight kills and four blocks from sophomore Tawna Sysum.

Heritage fell to 8-6 for the year and next plays Saturday at home vs Lyons.
