DELHI – Matt Norton and Logan Robertson each contributed a hat trick of touchdowns for Loyola Friday night as the Flyers cruised to a 56-6 victory over Delhi Charter.
“I was pleased with how we answered the call from the first snap,” Loyola head coach Steven Geter said. “We came out and took control of the line of scrimmage on offense and on defense.”
Norton surpassed 1,000-yards rushing for his career, and Robertson had scoring runs of 3, 13, and 42 yards in his first career game on the offensive side of the ball.
“We knew how dangerous [Robertson] was going to be on offense,” Geter said. “We just needed to get him the ball.
Malcom Gray ran for a four-yard score at the end of the first quarter, but Delhi (0-1) would not find the endzone again thanks to a stifling Flyer defense.
Mansfield 46, Logansport 19
At Logansport, Dominique Hill scored two rushing touchdowns and added another on a punt return for the Wolverines as they blasted Logansport Friday night. Berlan Hunter caught a 65-yard pass from Brandon Campbell midway through the third quarter that opened the game up for Mansfield.
Plain Dealing 50, Arcadia 0
At Arcadia, Plain Dealing’s Diamonte Johnson threw four touchdowns and ran for one in a 50-0 rout of Arcadia Friday night. Johnson was able to spread the ball all over the field, hitting Isaac Jacobs, Trey Harris, Jammerei Stromile and Kaino Long for each of his first half touchdown passes. Long added a rushing touchdown in the third quarter for the Lions, who led 42-0 at halftime.
Lakeside 48, Ringgold 46
At Lakeside, the Warriors overcame a 22-12 halftime defecit to defeat Ringgold 48-46. Down ten to start the second half, Lakeside came out on fire scoring two touchdowns on their opening two possessions. The Redskins added a touchdown as time expired, bringing the final margin to two.
Haynesville 38, North Webster 14
Haynesville outlasted rival North Webster in Springhill Friday night.
