Shamar Johnson scored a game-high 19 points and Reggie McKelvy added 14 as Pine Forest topped Monroe County (Ala.) 61-49 on Friday at Pine Forest.

The Eagles got 12 points form DeMarcus Glover in the win to stay undefeated.

After a relatively low offensive output in the first half (22 points), Pine Forest turned it on in the second half, scoring 39 points over the final two quarters to pull away.

The Eagles return to the court Thursday in the Tate High Christmas tournament.

Tate rolls past Gulf Breeze

The Aggies had no problem with the Dolphins as Travis Walton and Twain Williams went for 16 and 17 points, respectively, in the 63-32 win.

Walton had nine rebounds and five assists to go with his huge scoring night. Williams added six rebounds to his game-high scoring performance.

Tate hosts a Christmas tournament beginning Thursday. The three-day event includes the Aggies, Pine Forest, West Florida and five teams from outside the area.

Walton edges Catholic

Catholic had the late lead Friday night at Walton, but failed to make a free throw in the fourth-quarter and lost 53-50 in District 1-4A play.

Quan Moorer and Brad Hartnett each scored 16 points for the Crusaders (6-5; 1-1) in the effort.

The district 1-4A teams, Catholic, Marianna and Walton, are now are all tied with one win and one loss in district play.

The Crusaders play again on December 27 hosting a Christmas Classic.

Marcus Cole scored 25 points as Escambia Charter beat Munroe 59-20 on the road Friday night.

The Bulldogs (6-7; 4-3) held Munroe scoreless in the fourth quarter to pick up the District 1-2A win.

Escambia Charter plays again hosting Central on January 10.

Pensacola High is set to play in the championship game of the Gulf Shores Christmas Classic after running past Baker 56-18 in the semifinals.

The Tigers (10-1; 8-1) beat Baker 56-18, and were led by D’Arcy Draper who had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
