Two early goals were enough for the Poudre boys soccer team in a 2-1 win against Monarch Wednesday night at French Field.
Senior Manny Macias and junior Eduardo Hernandez scored within the first 11 minutes. The Impalas withstood a 49th minute goal to get back on the winning side after a loss last match to Mountain Range.
The Impalas improved to 5-1 (1-1 Front Range League) on the season and next take the field tonight against Loveland.
VOLLEYBALL
MONARCH 3, POUDRE 1 — The Impalas split the first two sets 22-25 and 25-22 but couldn’t keep up in the last two sets.
Senior outside hitter Kaylee Zimlich paced Poudre with 10 kills while junior McKenna Papish dished out 20 assists.
Poudre fell to 4-4, 1-1 in Front Range League play, and will hit the court again tonight at Loveland.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN 3, FAIRVIEW 0 — The Lobos defense only allowed Fairview to score more than 20 once, sweeping the match 25-21, 25-10, 25-18.
Rocky Mountain hosts Fossil Ridge tonight in a Front Range League clash.
