BECKER – Ellie Engel led St. Cloud Cathedral with four goals in an 8-1 Granite Ridge Conference win over Becker Thursday afternoon.
Sophie Varner had two goals and Annie Johnson and Maddie Curtis each had a goal. Cathedral (5-0-1, 7-2-1) goalkeeper Mo Schroeder had seven saves. Katherine Pursley scored the lone goal for Becker.
ST. JOHN’S PREP 5, ZIMMERMAN 2
ZIMMERMAN – Clare Culligan continued her dominance, scoring four goals for the Johnnies (7-4) in their victory. Culligan leads her team, and the state in scoring, with 40 goals.
Ellen Arnold recorded Prep’s other goal. Leah Schellinger had 13 saves for the Johnnies.
ST. CLOUD APOLLO 1, SARTELL 0
Senior Kate Warren scored the game’s lone goal to lift St. Cloud Apollo past Little Falls in a tight contest.
Warren’s goal came in the 47th minute after getting the ball on the left side of the field, dribbling past two defenders and launching a shot from the top of the box to put Apollo (5-4-2) ahead.
St. Cloud Apollo goalie Liz Lowery finished with eight saves while Sartell’s Erin Deters tallied six saves.
SAUK RAPIDS 0, ST. CLOUD TECH 0 (2 OT)
St. Cloud Tech and Sauk Rapids tied 0-0 at St. Cloud State’s Husky Stadium.
Both teams managed just four shots on goal apiece.
Tech goalie Milee Peavey finished with four saves for the Tigers (1-3-2, 1-7-2) and Sartell’s Olivia Stockinger tallied four saves for the Sabres.
ST. CLOUD TECH 3, SAUK RAPIDS 1
SAUK RAPIDS – St. Cloud scored two second-half goals as the Tigers topped Sauk Rapids in a Central Lakes Conference game.
Issa Ibrahim scored in the 15th minute to give Sauk Rapids a 1-0 lead, but Tech answered late in the first half with an unassisted goal from senior forward Irvin Rivera.
Rivera struck again for the Tigers (4-1, 7-1) in the second half to earn himself a second goal. He was assisted by senior forward Austin Keller.
Junior Yaser Yousif sealed the victory for St. Cloud Tech with a goal, assisted by sophomore Brandon From.
Senior goalkeeper Sam Hastings made seven saves for Sauk Rapids (1-2-3 CLC, 3-4-3 overall).
ST. CLOUD CATHERDRAL 8, BECKER 0
Junior Will Hammer notched a hat trick and four other St. Cloud Cathedral players tallied at least one score as the Crusaders clobbered Becker at Whitney Park.
Hammer added one assist to his three-goal effort and senior Alan Flores had two goals of his own for Cathedral (8-0-1).
Seniors Myles Hagen and Hayden Speaks both scored and sophomore Zack Fritz added another to top off the Crusaders’ scoring splurge.
Cathedral finished with 21 shots on goal.
SARTELL 3, ST. CLOUD APOLLO 3
SARTELL – Zach Jacobson erased a two-goal deficit for the Sabres when he knotted the score at three with 1:30 to go in regulation.
Zach Spanier and Kellen Cameron also had goals for Sartell (6-4-1).
LITTLE FALLS 6, PRINCETON 1
PRINCETON – Little Falls (3-1-0 Granite Ridge, 3-4-1 overall) overcame an early 1-0 deficit to beat Princeton.
Princeton’s Korben Weidenborner scored less than a minute into the game.
Little Falls then got two goals apiece from Tim Insinger and Jake Loukkinen and single goals from Thomas Bell and Taylor Kattschade.
Jake Ploof made three saves in net for the Flyers. Reid Engen had 13 saves for Princeton.
HILLCREST LUTHERAN ACADEMY 2, ST. JOHN’S PREP 0
FERGUS FALLS – St. John’s Prep fell to Hillcrest Lutheran on the road.
Johnnies goalie Caz Novak stopped 17 of 19 shots against him.
Hillcrest Lutheran senior Luis Martinez scored one goal in the contest while junior Chris Pellegrino added another for the Comets.
St. John’s Prep (3-1, 7-4) was outshout 19-4.
