Sophomore midfielder Aidan Sim-Campos had three goals as St. Cloud Apollo rolled past Fergus Falls 7-1 in Central Lakes Conference boys soccer action Tuesday night at Michie Field.
The Eagles improved to 11-0-1 in conference play and 12-1-1 overall.
Seniors Abdifatah Musse and Said Gure both had two goals for the Eagles. Apollo sophomore goalkeeper Cooper Gray had four saves.
SARTELL 5, BRAINERD 0
SARTELL – Senior Jared Forst notched a hat trick and two other Sabres scored goals as Sartell stomped Brainerd in Central Lakes Conference play.
Sophomore Brandon Schuchard and junior Kyle Erickson both added goals for Sartell and senior Skylar Gardner tallied four saves for the Sabres (7-2-1, 9-5-1).
St. Cloud Tech 4, Alexandria 2
ALEXANDRIA – Chandler Davis and Nick Heseltine each had goals for Alexandria, but the Cardinals fell to St. Cloud Tech in nonconference play.
Willmar 1, Sauk Rapids 0
SAUK RAPIDS – Junior Becerra scored at the 21:59 mark of the first half and that was all Willmar needed in a Central Lakes Conference win.
Sam Hastings had 15 saves in net for Sauk Rapids.
St. John’s Prep 5, Becker 0
COLLEGEVILLE – Keiji Sai scored twice and St. John’s Prep blanked Becker in Granite Ridge Conference play.
HP Park (two assists), Luke Teigen (one assist) and Michael Jacobs all helped lead the Johnnies. It was Teigen’s 11th goal of the season but first with his feet. Teigen’s other goals have been headers.
Stephen Mead assisted on one of the goals, Caz Novak made seven saves for the Johnnies (5-2, 10-5) and Ben Gilchrist had 13 saves for Becker.
ST. CLOUD CATHEDRAL 12, PRINCETON 0
PRINCETON – The Crusaders scored 12 goals and collected their twelfth win of the season as they blasted Princeton in Granite Ridge Conference play.
Hayden Speaks and Austin Marek each scored three goals while Matt Fritz added two goals for Cathedral (12-0-2). The Crusaders outshot Princeton 33-2. Alan Flores recorded the shutout in net.
ST. JOHN’S PREP 4, BECKER 2
BECKER – Eighth-grader Taylor Nydeen scored her fifth goal of the season for the Johnnies as they edged Becker in Granite Ridge Conference play. Clare Culligan had three goals and an assist to lead the Johnnies offense. St. John’s Prep is now 6-3 in conference play and 10-5 overall.
Madi Geddy and Rachael Vogl each scored goals for Bulldogs (0-9-0, 3-12-0). Emily Wolf had 17 saves in net for Becker.
LITTLE FALLS 4, ZIMMERMAN 1
LITTLE FALLS – Junior forward Rachelle Leblanc notched two goals as Little Falls flew past Zimmerman in Granite Ridge Conference play.
The Flyers (2-8, 3-9-1) also got scores from junior Katie York and eighth grader Chelsea Moran. Yorek’s score came on a penalty kick in the second half. ScottiJo Meyer finished with four saves on five Zimmerman shots for Little Falls.
Princeton 1, St. Cloud Cathedral 0
Maggie Peterson scored a first-half goal as Princeton shutout St. Cloud Cathedral in Granite Ridge Conference play at Whitney Park.
Princeton keeper Erica Schramel stopped 10 Cathedral shots in the win. Mo Schroeder had nine saves for the Crusaders (10-3-1 overall).
SARTELL 3, BRAINERD 1
BRAINERD – Despite a scoreless first half, a flurry of goals in the final 40 minutes saw Sartell hand Brainerd its first loss of the season in Central Lakes Conference play.
Shortly after the start of the second half, midfielder Grace Kuhl opened the scoring for Sartell with a long-range shot. Just three minutes later, Jenny Hendrickson provided the equalizer for the Warriors. With the game tied at 1, Katie Stuttgen gave the Sabres their second lead of the game with a headed goal. Later in the half, Sophie VanSurksum cliched the win for Sartell with the team’s third and final goal.
ALEXANDRIA 3, ST. CLOUD TECH 1
ALEXANDRIA – Gabrielle Koel scored two goals for the Cardinals as they downed Tech in Central Lakes Conference play.
Goalkeeper Sarah Bruzek made three saves for Alexandria. Haley Hjort notched an unassisted goal for the Tigers.
Fergus Falls 2, St. Cloud Apollo 1
FERGUS FALLS – Lauren Norgren and Kathryn Sawtell each scored goals as Fergus Falls beat St. Cloud Apollo in Central Lakes Conference play. The Eagles led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a goal by Kayla Bartels
SAUK RAPIDS 4, WILLMAR 0
WILLMAR – Nicole Partch opened the Storm’s scoring account with just four minutes left in the first half when she headed a goal into the top corner.
Courtney Ackerman, Shelby Schiller and Brianna Voss were the other three goal scorers.
