WILLMAR – Junior Leah Wurm fell behind early in the first set of the No. 3 singles match before rallying and helping St. Cloud Tech blow past Willmar 7-0.
Wurm fell behind 5-2 in her first set before notching a 7-6, 6-2 victory in her match. Seventh-grader Katelyn Tarrolly earned her first varsity win with the Tigers (1-0, 1-0) after posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory over her opponent in the no. 2 singles match.
In doubles, Tech was led by junior Lexi Portz and sophomore Jill Kedrowski who won their No. 1 doubles match 6-1, 6-3.
HOLY FAMILY 3
ANNANDALE – Kaytlin Kuefler defeated Holy Family’s Danielle Gannon in the deciding match at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2).
The Cardinals (8-1) also had wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.
MELROSE – Melrose went undefeated and downed the eighth-ranked team in Class A as the Dutchmen edged Little Falls and Foley at the Melrose triangular.
Melrose (7-2) defeated Little Falls 4-3 and Class A No. 8 Foley 4-3 on the way to a sweep. The Dutchmen didn’t drop a singles match against the Flyers and had three players win both their matches. Juniors Grace Brang, Jailyn Brinkman and Kenedy Meyer each won multiple matches for Melrose.
ST. CLOUD CATHEDRAL 2
St. Cloud Cathedral fell at home to Princeton. The Crusaders’ only wins came from Greta Egerman and Lauren Stang at No. 1 doubles and Natalie Otto and Hannah Lakmann in No. 3 doubles.
PARK RAPIDS QUAD
PARK RAPIDS – Senior Laura Geisenhof won multiple matches as part of two separate No. 1 doubles teams, but the wins weren’t enough as Long Prairie-Gray Eagle went winless at the Park Rapids Quadrangular.
The Thunder Fell 5-2 to Crookston, 5-2 to Pequot Lakes and 6-1 to Park Rapids.
