Prep volleyball: Lincoln tops Menasha


The No. 3 seeded Manitowoc Lincoln volleyball team defeated visiting No. 14 Menasha on Thursday by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-15 in the WIAA Division 1 Volleyball sectional opener.

The Ships were led by Meg Wolowicz who had a team-high 12 kills and four blocks while teammate Mallory Dixon had 23 assists, also a team high.

Lincoln will host No. 11 Cedarburg on Saturday at JFK.

Kewaunee 3, Manitowoc Lutheran 2

The No. 5 Lancers fell to the host No. 4 Storm in the Division 3 regional semifinal by scores of 20-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-17 and 15-8.

Lutheran couldn’t close out resilient Kewaunee despite needing to win just one of the final two sets.

Mackayla Menges led the Lancers 12 points, 10 kills and four aces while teammates Devon Liermann and Jordan Menges has team-highs in kills (21) and assists (23), respectively.

Wrightstown 3, Kiel 0

The No. 10 Raiders played the No. 2 host Tigers tough but were swept by scores of 28-26, 25-21, 25-15 in Division 2.
