ALBANY – Sam Schlangen had 28 set assists and seven digs to lead Albany in a 3-0 nonconference volleyball win Tuesday over Holdingford.

Game scores were 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.

Callie Manthe had 12 kills and 10 digs for the Huskies (7-1 overall) and Kristen Buttweiler added eight kills and four ace blocks.

Summer Storm had five kills, three blocks and seven digs for Holdingford.

Haley Huls also contributed 17 digs for the Huskers.

Melrose 3, Pierz 1

MELROSE – The Dutchmen beat the Pioneers 21-25, 25-6, 25-13 and 28-26 in a nonconference match.

Junior Bridget Bednar had 10 digs and eight kills, sophomore Jessica Hawks had 15 set assists, 14 digs and seven kills and senior Brook Brausen added 15 set assists for the Pioneers (3-1).


MAPLE LAKE – Rachel Latour was 23-for-24 serving with three aces and 14 digs to lead the Irish (9-3) to a nonconference win over Dassel-Cokato.

Shelby Rachel added 13 kills and 17 digs for Maple Lake, who won the match 25-13, 18-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Sartell 3, St. Cloud Tech 0

SARTELL – Led by Ashton Haider’s 16 kills, Sartell swept St. Cloud Tech.

Haider also tallied 12 digs for the Sabres (4-5 overall), who downed the Tigers 25-13, 25-18, 25-20. Rachel Winter led Sartell with 26 set assists.

Alex Roberts had two ace serves and eight digs and Kylie Loesch had six kills and 12 set assists for Tech (1-2 Central Lakes, 1-4 overall).


The Storm (1-4 CLC, 5-5 overall) picked up its first CLC win in a five-game victory at Apollo High School.

Game scores were 25-19, 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 15-5.

The Storm was led by Kari Hiscock’s 19 digs and four ace serves.

In addition, Sierra Karls had 14 kills, 11 digs and five ace serves while Nicole Stedje tallied 31 assists.


FERGUS FALLS – The Spartans were in striking distance with all three games but couldn’t finish, losing the match 25-17, 25-23, 25-20.

Maggie Young tallied 13 digs and two ace serves for Rocori (1-2 CLC, 3-6 overall).

Sam Koshiol came off the bench to record five kills.

Cathedral 3, Little Falls 0

Rylee Medelberg had eight kills and three solo blocks to lead the Crusaders to the win at Cathedral High School.

Game scores were 25-20, 25-9, 25-22.

Jenna Januschka had seven kills and 11 digs for the Crusaders (2-1 GRC, 2-3 overall) and Sophie Harris added 19 set assists.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 3, West Central 1

BARRETT – Maggie Chapin had 17 kills and four ace serves and Jenna Langer added 16 kills and 13 digs to lead the Thunder (1-1 Prairie, 6-3 overall) to the 25-17, 23-25, 25-14, 25-16 win over West Central.
