CAMBRIDGE – The St. Cloud Christian School fell 3-1 to Cambridge Community Christian School in its first-ever varsity volleyball match Tuesday night.

Cambridge won 25-21, 25-23, 17-25, 25-17.

Laura Knoblauch had 14 set assists and six kills for the Warriors (0-1), Toria Gillson had 14 kills, three blocks and two aces, Allison Gordon had 20 set assists, five aces and three kills and Lauren Gillson had four blocks and three kills.

“I was so proud of the team tonight,” Warriors head coach Karla Hultgren said. “It was a great showing for our first game in the state high school league. We’re looking forward to the rest of the season.

The Warriors will play their home games at St. Cloud Cathedral this season.

THIEF RIVER FALLS 3,
LITTLE FALLS 0

LITTLE FALLS – Senior Noelle Kurowski finished with six kills and 10 digs as Thief River Falls dropped Little Falls.

KIMBALL 3, OGILVIE 0

KIMBALL – Breane Meierhofer had three ace serves and five kills as the Cubs (1-1) picked up their first win of the season.

Laura Frank added five ace serves and Tiffany Kuechle tallied 27 assists for Kimball, which won the non-conference match 25-9, 25-14, 25-20.

PIERZ 3, AITKIN 0

PIERZ – Bridget Bednar led Pierz with 12 kills, five blocks and two ace serves in a win against Aitkin.

Game scores were 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.

Jessica Hawks led the Pioneers in setting with 16 assists and in serving with four aces. Miranda Woitalla finished with eight digs for Pierz.

MAPLE LAKE 1

MAPLE LAKE – Bailey Bechtold and Jamie Maus each tallied 14 kills to lead the Magic over Maple Lake in a nonconference match. Monticello won 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21.

B-B-E 3, A-C-GC 0

BELGRADE – Brittany Roelike finished with 11 kills and three ace serves as Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa took down Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

PAYNESVILLE 2

PAYNESVILLE – Megan Schaefer was 13-for-14 serving with two aces and 22 digs to lead the Bulldogs, who fell to EV-W 19-25, 25-18, 14-25, 25-19, 11-15.

MELROSE 3, MINNEWASKA 0

MELROSE – Brynn VanHeel and Brianna Schmiesing had six kills apiece to aid the Melrose offense in a win against Minnewaska.

Game scores were 25-8, 26-24, 25-23. Abby Wessel had four aces and Shelby Uphoff added 10 digs for the Dutchmen (1-0). Tayler Reller and Emily Goerdt chipped in 14 assists apiece.

SARTELL 3, SAUK RAPIDS 1

SAUK RAPIDS – Senior Sierra Karls finished with 12 kills and 15 digs, but it wasn’t enough to propel Sauk Rapids past Sartell in the the Storm’s conference opener.

Sartell won 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 25-20 led by senior outside hitter Ashton Haider. Haider finished with 13 kills and 12 digs for the Sabres.

Sauk Rapids’ Nicole Stedje finished with 28 set assists to led the Storm (1-1).

ALBANY 3, FOLEY 0

FOLEY – Callie Manthe led Albany with 11 kills and nine digs in a Granite Ridge Conference win at Foley.

Albany won 25-16, 25-15, 25-8.

Sam Schlangen had 22 set assists and seven digs for Albany, Kristin Buttweiler added 11 kills and Cassie Shaver finished with eight digs for the Huskies (1-0, 4-1).
