Cailyn Rafi’s goal with five seconds left in overtime gave the host and No. 7 seed Point Pleasant Boro High School field hockey team a 2-1 win over No. 10 seed Monmouth Regional on Saturday in an NJSIAA Central Group II first-round game.
Rafi was right in front of the goal and fired a shot into the middle of the cage.
The Panthers (9-4-2) tied the match with 3:36 left in regulation when Sabrina Hammel received a pass from Rafi and fired a shot into the goal.
Taylor Hager had given Monmouth (4-11) a 1-0 lead 15:12 into the match.
Point Boro will play at No. 2 seed Delran in the sectional quarterfinals.
HOLMDEL 3, HACKETTSTOWN 0: Amanda Jones scored a goal and assisted on Gina Moglino’s goal and Cassidy Fontana had two assists as the No. 9 seed Hornets (9-6) defeated the No. 8 seed Tigers (9-9) in a North 2 Group II first-round match.
Moglino and Jones scored in the last 6:10 of the first half with Jones goal coming just before time in the half expired.
Holmdel will play at No. 1 seed Rumson-Fair Haven in the sectional quarterfinals.

CHEROKEE 2, TR EAST 1: Dan Hampton blasted a shot from 25 yards into the lower right hand corner with two minutes left in the second overtime to give the No. 9 seed Chiefs the win over the No. 8 seed Raiders (10-5-2) in a South Group IV first-round game.
Hampton tied the game two minutes into the second half with a free kick into the lower left corner from 20 yards out.
Matt Singh had given Toms River East the lead with a goal with six minutes left in the first half.
