MEDFORD – Kylie Christianson had a game-high 17 kills and two solo blocks to lead the Medford volleyball team to a 26-24, 25-14, 25-13 WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal victory over Nekoosa on Tuesday

Carly Rowe added four kills, Brooke Smola had five aces and Brooke Wibben played strong defense with 16 digs in the Raiders’ win. Medford’s next game will be Thursday night when they play number two seed Wittenberg-Birnamwood, who comes off a first-round playoff bye. The game is at Wittenberg.

Owen-Withee 3, Elmwood 0

OWEN – Aleyna Goerlitz had 14 kills as the No. 2 seed Blackhawks cruised to a 25-11, 25-11, 25-11 WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal sweep.

Kennadi Batchelor had 21 service points and four service aces and Bailey Karba had a team-high 14 assists.

“We got to play a lot of different people tonight,” O-W coach Al Goerlitz said. “The kids got a chance to play with some different people. We didn’t play particularly sharp, but things are going to get tougher from here on.”
