Familiar foes await Tri-Valley and Rosecrans on Friday in the second round of regional football playoffs.
In Division II, Region 7, the top-seeded Scotties face No. 4 New Albany for the third consecutive year in the postseason, while the fourth-seeded Bishops take on Division VI, Region 23 top seed Danville for the teams’ fourth meeting in two years.
Both games will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tri-Valley and New Albany will play at Zanesville’s John D. Sulsberger Memorial Stadium, while Rosecrans and Danville take the field at Gahanna Lincoln High School.
The Scotties have beaten the Eagles in the past two meetings — 30-27 in overtime in 2010 and a 24-7 victory in 2011.
Rosecrans topped Danville, 21-7, earlier this season, and beat the Blue Devils, 34-7, in the 2011 playoffs, while Danville won last year’s regular season meeting, 18-0.
Rosecrans will have pre-sale tickets on sale during school hours Wednesday through Friday, and Tri-Valley also will have pre-sale tickets available.
Pre-sale tickets cost $7 for both games, and all tickets are $9 at the gate.
