Resurrection Christian volleyball team hosting 2A regional

The Resurrection Christian volleyball team will host the Class 2A Region B tournament today.

The Cougars are coming off sweeping all three games of their district tournament and carry a 17-5 overall record. They won the Mile High Conference with a 9-0 record in league.

Here is a look at the teams competing at Resurrection Christian School on today:

Resurrection Christian

The Cougars are the class of the conference and on a roll after winning their district.

Sophomore Preston Lienemann leads the team with 315 kills.

Riliegh Lienemann is second on the team with 173. The Lienemanns also are the top-two servers on the team.

Yuma

The Indians went 14-9 overall and finished third in the 2A/1A Lower Platte Conference with a league record of 6-2.

Yuma is led by a star freshman. Tara Traphagan leads the team with 167 kills, 114 blocks and is tied for the team lead with 34 aces.

Dayspring Christian

The Eagles went 16-6 overall and finished in second place in the Mile High Conference with a 7-2 record in league play. Both of their league losses came in four-set defeats to Resurrection Christian.

Dayspring Christian has three players with more than 130 kills. Mikayla Donoho has 134, Hannah Donoho has 180 and Emily Kurz leads the team with 182.
