Ridgewood was well-represented in several sports as the All-Inter-Valley Conference fall sports teams recently were released.
Four Generals — seniors Jeremy Shamel, Christian Grove and Chris Davidson and junior Garret Bethel — were named to first team in football. Senior Dillion McPherson and junior Tommy Layman made second team and juniors Tevis Whit and Cole Ziegler received honorable mention.
League champion Garaway swept top honors as Jason Wallick was coach of the year, Tyler Walter grabbed player of the year, and Nate Hughes was the kicking specialist of the year.
Ridgewood volleyball — which was second in the IVC — placed seniors Victoria Wiggins and Kelsey Miller on first team. Senior Abbey Youngen was named to second team and sophomore Erika Michael was honorable mention.
Tuscarawas Central Catholic’s Linda Williams and Megan Lawless were coach and player of the year, respectively.
Jessica McCoun was first team for girls cross country, and Zak Keesee made second team in boys for Ridgewood.
Senior Tyler Davis earned first-team honors, senior Howie Young made second team and honorable mention included freshman Nick Blakley for the Generals in boys golf.
Ryan Taggart was boys golf coach of the year, and Cody Mast received player of the year honors for Garaway.
Ridgewood’s Paige Lane was named to the first team, and Samantha Wilson made second team in girls golf.
Strasburg’s Josh Metz earned girls golf coach of the year, and Strasburg senior Mikayla Johnson collected player of the year honors.
