A slow started proved too much for Rosecrans to overcome on Friday night.
The Bishops trailed by six points after one quarter, and never recovered in a 64-46 loss to Marietta in an East Central Ohio League contest.
The Tigers (1-4, 3-4) built a 15-9 first-quarter lead and expanded it to 34-18 at the half. Rosecrans (1-3, 1-6) was unable to cut the deficit to single digits in the second half.
Adrick Cronin led Rosecrans with 14 points, while Jared Cox added 10, Tyler Johnston tallied eight points and nine rebounds, and Tyler Swackhammer scored six.
Braden Riley and Adam McKnight combined for 31 points — Riley scored 16 and McKnight hit five 3-pointers for 15 points to pace Marietta. Cameron Benson and Billy Weekly each added nine points in the win.
Marietta shot 48 percent from the floor (25 of 52) and had just 10 turnovers to 16 by the Bishops, who were 18 of 48 (33 percent) from the field.
Marietta won the reserve contest, 73-18, as Zack Robinson had 12 points. No leaders were available for Rosecrans.
* The New Lexington at Morgan boys game was postponed. The game will be made up Jan. 5, with reserves at 6 p.m. and varsity to follow.
* The West Muskingum at John Glenn and Sheridan at Maysville games were both postponed. West Muskingum at John Glenn will be played tonight, with reserves at 6 p.m.
No makeup date was announced for Sheridan-Maysville.
