Senior forward Welke Galvao scored a hat trick for the Long Branch boys soccer team, including the winning goal in the second period of overtime, giving the Green Wave (3-0, 2-0) the 3-2 win over the Crimson Knights (1-2, 1-2).
Galvao and junior midfielder Lucas Andrade combined in the 70th minute to send the game into overtime.
Andrade had a set piece from about 40 yards out and chipped the ball up to Galvao who headed the ball over the Wall keeper.
The two also combined for the game-winner in overtime off a corner kick in the 93rd minute.
Connor Ritchet scored the go-ahead goal for the Crimson Knights in the 60th minute.
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP 2, MIDDLETOWN NORTH 1: T.J. Zirkman scored what would be the winning goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute leading the Patriots (3-0, 3-0) over the Lions (0-2,1, 0-2-1) in Class A North.
Nick Costelloe also scored for the Patriots in the 13th minute off an assist from Chris Jeffery, and Patrick Sweeney scored for the Lions in the second half at the 60th minute.
MANASQUAN 3, ST. JOHN VIANNEY 2: Senior forward David Palandio scored on a through ball from junior midfielder Richard Comer giving the Warriors (3-1, 2-1) the win over the Lancers (2-2, 2-2) in a Class A Central game.
Palangio took the through ball and took on the keeper on a break away and tucked the ball in the lower left corner for the game winner.
COLTS NECK 1, MIDDLETOWN SOUTH 0: Halley Cartas played a through ball to Amanda Visco and Visco shot the ball from about six yards out for the game-winning goal at 53:28 as the Cougars (3-1, 2-1) defeated the Eagles (1-1-1, 1-1-1) in a Class A North game. Colts Neck’s Lauren Zborovancik had two saves and Middletown South’s Juliet LaFerlita had nine saves.
MATAWAN 2, NEPTUNE 1: Endila Radoncic scored the game-winning goal at 26:47 as the Huskies (2-1, 2-1) defeated the Scarlet Fliers (0-3, 0-2) in a Class B North game.
Matawan’s Karen David made 10 saves and Neptune’s Alyssa Pojero made six saves.
MARLBORO 0, MANALAPAN 0: Manalapan’s Brianne Nealon (15 saves) and Marlboro’s Marti Stewart (11 saves) each didn’t allow a goal as the Braves (0-0-2, 0-0-2) and the Mustangs (1-1-1, 1-1-1) battled to the double overtime scoreless tie.
SOUTHERN 2, JACKSON MEMORIAL 0: Junior middle hitter Cece Hodgson, senior middle hitter Kelsie Blue, junior right side-setter Carly Dellavalle and junior right side Emily Miglin led the Rams (2-1, 2-0) past the Jaguars (2-1, 1-1) in Class A South.
Hodgson finished with six kills and three blocks. Blue added three kills and three blocks. Dellavalle contributed two kills and four assists. Miglin notched three kills and two blocks.
Senior outside hitter Courtney Matlock put up four aces, seven kills and five digs for the Jaguars. Senior outside hitter Kim Matlock added two kills and six assists.
JACKSON LIBERTY 2, BARNEGAT 1: Junior setter Kelly Lynk’s three aces, eight digs and 12 assists propelled the Lions (2-1, 1-1) past the Bengals (2-1, 0-1) in Class B South.
Senior middle blocker April Szymczyk added nine kills and junior libero Alex Ruffler added 15 digs.
Barnegat junior outside hitter Meg Nichols notched two aces, 13 kills and 10 digs. Junior middle hitter Sara Ridgeway added nine kills, three blocks and two digs.
CENTRAL 2, MANCHESTER 1: Junior setter Audra Didzbalis, senior outside hitter Rachel Iozzia, junior middle blocker Brianne Allender and sophomore outside hitter Samantha Farreau led the Golden Eagles (2-0, 2-0) past the Hawks (2-1, 1-1) in Class B South.
Didzbalis put up 11 assists. Iozzia had seven kills. Allender notched seven kills, four blocks and two digs. Farreau finished with five aces, four kills and four digs.
Senior setter-outside hitter Michelle Cuthbert led the Hawks with eight aces, seven kills and 18 assists. Senior outside hitter Anevea Tinnery added three aces, seven digs and 10 kills.
TOMS RIVER NORTH 2, TOMS RIVER EAST 0: Paced by junior libero Sarah Culp and sophomore setter Sydney Binkley, the Mariners (2-0, 2-0) blanked the Raiders (1-3, 0-2) in Class A South.
Culp finished with 11 digs and two aces. Binkley added 11 assists and two aces.
Senior setter Maria Gomez-Botero led East with 16 assists.
