Senior second singles player Jenna Pellegrino remained undefeated and scored the clinching point on Tuesday as the third-seeded Red Bank Catholic girls tennis team defeated 10th-seeded St. John Vianney, 5-0, in a Shore Conference Tournament semifinal match at the Atlantic Club in Wall.

Pellegrino defeated senior Michelle Colucci 6-1, 6-0 and improved her record to 16-0 this season. She won the match with a backhand shot down the line as Red Bank Catholic (11-2) got its third point for a 3-0 lead in the match.

Red Bank Catholic senior first singles player Rocine Moschella defeated freshman Megan Giaimo 7-5, 6-2 and Red Bank Catholic senior third singles player Emma Giordano defeated junior Katie McAlick 6-1, 6-2.

Red Bank Catholic will play top-seeded Holmdel today at 4 p.m. in the Shore Conference Tournament final.

Boys Soccer

CBA 2, HOWELL 1: Junior Garret Patten scored the winning goal of the game for the Colts (2-4-3, 2-4-3) giving them an important Class A North win over the Rebels (4-4, 4-4) on Tuesday. The Colts also got a goal early in the first half from sophomore Joe Tashjy.

FREEHOLD TWP. 1, MIDD. NORTH 0: Chris Jeffrey scored the only goal of the game leading the Patriots (6-2-1) over the Lions (3-6-1) in a Class A North game. Jeffrey ripped a shot from about 18 yards out into the lower left corner of the goal off an assist from Kyle Czaikowski.

MARLBORO 2, MANALAPAN 0: Dave Nigro and Brandon Fuerst combined for one goal and one assist leading the Mustangs (2-4-3) over the Braves (2-4-3) in a Class A North game.

NEPTUNE 2, MATAWAN 1: Eleazar Santiago scored the winning goal of the game 8 minutes into the first overtime leading the Scarlet Fliers (5-4-1) over the Huskies (0-9) in a Class B North game.

Santiago won the ball at midfield and ripped a shot from the 18 in the lower left corner of the goal.

Girls Soccer

OCEAN 2, RED BANK 1: Sophomore midfielder Taylor Racioppi scored two goals, including the game-winning score in the 49th minute as the Spartans (9-3, 6-3) defeated the Bucs (2-8-1, 2-6-1) in a Class B North game. On the winning goal, Racioppi scored on a direct kick just outside the 18 and her first goal came in the 23rd minute. Ocean’s Makenzie Oates made six saves and Red Bank’s Devon VanLoon made 25.

MIDD. SOUTH 2, COLTS NECK 1: Senior midfielder Bridget Skinner scored two goals including the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute as the Eagles (3-2-2, 3-2-2) defeated the Cougars (5-3-1, 4-3-1) in a Class A North game. Colts Neck’s Halley Cartas scored in the 15th minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Middletown South’s Lauren VanExter made eight saves and Colts Neck’s Lauren Zborovancik made seven saves.

NEPTUNE 0, MATAWAN 0: Neptune’s Alyssa Pojero made 10 saves and Matawan’s Karen David made two saves as the Scarlet Fliers (1-7-2, 1-6-1) forged a scoreless Class B North double overtime tie with the Huskies (3-5-2, 3-4-2).

FREEHOLD TWP. 4, MIDD. NORTH 0: Junior forward Madison Dunn had one goal and one assist as the Patriots (6-1-2, 6-1-2) defeated the Lions (1-8, 0-8) in a Class A North game. Middletown North’s Alexa Barriero made 18 saves and Freehold Township used goalies Hayley Pascoal (one save) and Ryan Jackson (four saves).

Girls Volleyball

MANCHESTER 2, CENTRAL 0: Senior setter Michelle Cuthbert’s five service points, five kills and 10 assists paced the Hawks (8-2, 5-2) past the Golden Eagles (5-3, 5-3) in Class B South.

Junior outside hitter Valerie Ortense added four service points, two aces, two digs and nine kills. Senior outside hitter Brianna Vicente contributed eight service points, three aces and three digs.

For Central, senior outside hitter Brianne Allender put up four kills and two blocks. Junior setter Audra Didzbalis added four kills and seven digs.

SOUTHERN 2, JACKSON MEMORIAL 0: Junior right side-hitter Carly Dellavalle’s nine assists, two kills and two blocks led the Rams (11-5, 7-0) past the Jaguars (9-3, 6-2) in Class A South.

Junior middle Cece Hodgson added four kills and two blocks. Junior outside Emily Miglin contributed seven kills and two aces.

Senior outside hitter Courtney Matlock led the Jaguars with nine kills, two aces and three digs. Junior outside hitter Brianna Roath added five kills and 10 digs.

COLTS NECK 2, LONG BRANCH 0: Led by senior outside hitter Angela Zeck and junior setter Samantha Panicali, the Cougars (7-7, 5-4) bested the Green Wave (0-12, 0-8) in Class A North.

Zeck notched six aces, two kills and two digs. Panicali finished with three aces, two digs, two kills and six assists.

Field Hockey

TR EAST 3, BRICK MEM. 1: Samantha Stecher scored two goals and Jackie Schwartz scored one goal to lead the Raiders (2-7-1, 2-5-1) past the Mustangs (1-10-1, 1-9) in a Class A South game.

Megan Tesh scored the Mustangs only goal in the 33rd minute and Ariana Irizarry assisted.

SHORE 7, RANNEY 0: Senior Kara Casale scored three goals to lead the Blue Devils (8-1, 7-0) past the Panthers (2-5, 2-4) in a Class B Central game. Carol Middough and Molly O’Neill each scored one goal and had one assist.

Ranney’s goalkeeper Brynn Bresnahan made 13 saves.

KEYPORT 3, MATER DEI 0: Sami Nellis scored two goals and Dana Norflett scored one goal and had one assist to help the Red Raiders earn their ninth victory of the season.

Kaitlyn Nash had 13 saves for the Seraph’s (0-7, 0-6).
