Trae Wells scored 23 points to lead the Reed boys basketball team to a 59-46 win over visiting McQueen in a Division I game Saturday.

The Raiders broke open a 26-26 tie at halftime.

Alonzo Vega added 11 points for Reed (2-4 overall, 1-2 Division I). Bryce Harnack scored 16 for McQueen (1-3 Division I).

Boys basketball

SPANISH SPRINGS 50, NEVADA UNION 29 at Spanish Springs: Kenny Meyer made five 3-pointers on his way to scoring 18 points to lead the Cougars.

Teammate TJ McCauley shot 10-for-10 at the free throw line and finished with 16 points. For Nevada Union, Lucas Vojak scored 10 points.

MODESTO CENTRAL CATHOLIC 100, DAMONTE RANCH 88 at Damonte Ranch: The Mustangs scored 55 second-half points but still couldn’t catch the visiting Raiders.

David Crowley scored 28 points to lead Damonte (4-4). Kyle Daugherty added 17.

For Central Catholic, John Fenton (30 points) and Peter Hamilton (29) combined for 59 points.

SPARKS 52, FALLON 45 at Sparks: Keiffer Putman knocked down five 3-pointers, finishing with 19 points to lead the Railroaders.

Teammate Bobby Brown scored 12 points and shot six-for-six from the free throw line. Nolan Rusk scored 13 points for the Greenwave.

MODESTO CENTRAL CATHOLIC 62, RENO 57 at Reno: John Fenton was the top scorer of the night with 22 points for Central Catholic. Jakob Rolling was Reno’s leading scorer with 13 points.

Girls basketball

SPANISH SPRINGS 56, WOOSTER 24 at Wooster: Lyndsey Anderson, Kayli Lang and Lanesha Terrance all scored eight points to lead a balanced offense for the Cougars (9-1 overall, 2-1 Division I)

Wooster (5-6, 0-4) was led by Trisha Christy’s eight points.

YERINGTON 52, INCLINE 37 at Yerington: Angela Sciarani scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Lions. Teammate Jazzmin Bryan finished with 10 rebounds. Molly Franklin scored 12 points for Incline.

TRUCKEE 39, LOWRY 31 at Lowry: Jackie Bolton was the top scorer for the night, finishing with 13 points for the Wolverines.

Teammate Sydnie English scored nine points. For Lowry, Alyssa Dendary scored eight points.

BISHOP MANOGUE 71, DEL ORO 62 at Loomis, Calif.: In a tournament hosted by Del Oro, Gabbi Concepcion scored 32 points to lead the Miners.

FALLON 50, SPARKS 35 at Sparks: Cady Cordes scored 12 points to lead the Greenwave. Sparks’ Krystal Parker knocked down seven 3-pointers for 21 points to lead all scorers.
