Thurman Francis defeated Lancaster Christian Academy 40-4 Monday night in a middle school basketball game.

Cade Mills led Thurman Francis with 12 points. Lawrence Segree had nine points, and Myles Kumrow added eight.

Kevin Epps had two points for LCA.

MTCS girls fall to Moore Co.

Moore County defeated MTCS girls 45-32 Tuesday night. Abby Buckner led MTCS with 14 points. Cammie Adams added 12.

The loss dropped the Lady Cougars to 3-6. On Monday night, MTCS fell 33-32 to Cascade. Buckner led MTCS with 16 points. Adams added 10.

This marks Brad Martin’s first season as girls coach.

Buckner led the Lady Cougars with 14 points in a 30-24 win over Westwood that gave MTCS its third win of the season. Adams had 19 and Buckner 15 prior to that contest in a 36-23 win over rival Forrest.

In a 19-17 loss to Eagleville earlier this season, Buckner led the Lady Cougars with 14. Eagleville’s Karah Snell had six to lead the Lady Eagles.

In a 30-24 win over Community, Adams tallied 16. It marked the first win of the season for MTCS.

That win halted a three-game losing streak to begin the season. Buckner had 20 points in a 34-33 loss to Liberty. Buckner tallied 22 in a 34-29 overtime loss to Moore County.

And Buckner had 14 in a 46-28 loss to Cascade.\\

La Vergne FOP playing Tennessee Titans alum

Alumni of the Tennessee Titans will be playing members of the LaVergne Fraternal Order of Police in a flag-football game Saturday at 6 p.m. at LaVergne High School’s Freedom Field.

Proceeds and admission will benefit the Kid-4-Christmas program and families of officers injured in the line of duty. The event is presented by the LaVergne Fraternal Order of Police, #85, Percy Priest Lodge.
