Sacred Heart High School is still in search of a boys’ soccer coach with a little less than three weeks left until the official start of the fall scholastic sports season.
That could change in the near future, however, according to athletic director Joe Blandino.
In a text message Monday, Blandino said the school has narrowed its list of candidates down to three with a decision on the next coach expected to be made early next week.
Last year’s coach, Mario Monfardini, left for a job at St. Augustine following the 2011 season and was replaced by William Dittus earlier this year. Dittus later resigned after accepting a teaching position at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, Blandino said.
In the interim, assistant coaches Joe Sterchele and Santi Garzon have conducted practices, according to Blandino.
