The 2012 Union County Girls Soccer Tournament was seeded Monday night and two-time defending champion Scotch Plains-Fanwood received the No. 1 seed.
The Raiders, who have qualified for the previous seven finals and have won six, join the other Top 4 seeds with byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 through No. 8 seeds get a bye into the third round, with the No. 9 through No. 12 seeds off until the second round.
The tournament begins Saturday with four first-round games, continuing Oct. 10 and then Oct. 13, with the quarterfinals slated for Oct. 20. The semifinals are scheduled for Oct. 27 at A.L. Johnson High School, with the final being held Nov. 3 at Kean University.
