Tri-Valley regained its perch atop the Muskingum Valley League and highlighted selections as the All-MVL boys soccer team recently was released.
Tri-Valley’s David McAllister was the league’s player of the year and keeper of the year, the Scotties’ Nick Hernandez shared midfield player of the year honors with Ross Mathews, of John Glenn. Dale Ross, who led the Scotties to a league-best 8-0-2 mark, was coach of the year.
Philo’s Slade Moore was the offensive player of the year, and Maysville’s Colt Ray was defensive player of the year to round out top honors.
McAllister and Hernandez were joined by teammates Ryan Hetrick and Andrew McGee on first team. Ray, Skylar Novaria and Jacob Waltemire represented Maysville; Moore, Austin Roe and Heath Moyer were from Philo. West Muskingum’s Phillip Duval, Morgan’s Mac Woodburn and Mathews also were first-team honorees.
Second team included Chase Alfman and Wesley Dye, from Tri-Valley; Maysville’s Ronny Jarrett and Josh Ash; Tyler Cassady and Nick Brannon, of Philo; Will DeBolt and Ammon Laulusa, from West Muskingum; John Glenn’s Luke Klinehoffer and Paul Van Horn and Morgan’s Andrew Barclay and Reese Johnson.
Honorable mention went to Michael Rozsa and Drew Rector, of Tri-Valley; Jacob Landerman and Parker Bash, from Maysville; Philo’s Cameron Corns and Max Harmon; West’s Wesley King and Zack Kimble; Derek Stover and Ryan Hammer, of John Glenn; and Colin Makatura and Riley Newton, from Morgan.
Philo and Maysville tied for second in the league at 6-3-1, West M was 5-3-2, and Morgan and John Glenn each were 1-9.
