Scottsdale Christian junior Cole Lenderink may have the most grueling winter schedule of any athlete in Arizona. He doubles up in sports, playing both soccer and basketball. Monday, Lenderink scored three goals and had an assist in a 4 p.m. soccer game. He then joined the varsity basketball team just before warmups for a 7 p.m. game “with a sandwich in his mouth,” basketball coach Bob Fredericks said.

“And he played well,” Frederick said.

Lenderink also is an honors student.
