The Oregon State football team is 6-0 for the first time since 1907 and No. 9 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. The Beavers are also one of 15 NCAA FBS teams that have rushed for fewer yards this season than Sherwood (Ore.) did in an 84-42 win over Sandy (Ore.) on Friday.
"We racked 'em up and it was a lot of fun," Sherwood coach Greg Lawrence told The Oregonian. "We're always looking at rushing for 450 yards a game, and we didn't we can do that every time, but we never would have dreamed 700-and-some yards."
Christian Morris and Mickey Schaefer each rushed for over 200 yards, while Keegan Lawrence had three carries for 140 yards in the blowout win.
Sherwood's passing attack wasn't quite as prolific. The Bowmen completed 4-of-9 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Here are the three greatest single-game rushing totals in high school history:
893: Centerville (Texas), Oct. 3, 2003
878: West Memphis (Ark.), Nov. 11, 2000
774: Catawissa Southern Columbia (Pa.), Nov. 26, 2004
