The Manitowoc Lincoln girls tennis team won every match to sweep the WIAA D1 Kohler Subsectional on Monday.
In the No. 1 singles flight, Lincoln’s Bailey Budnik improved her record on the year to 27-1 after defeating Green Bay East’s Aly Milkie in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
The Ships No. 2 singles player Kali Hackmann dropped one game in two matches as she beat Morgan Occhino of East 6-1, 6-0 and West De Pere’s Jenny Louwagie 6-0,6-0.
Seidl DeWitt won both her matches in the No. 3 singles flight, taking down Brooke DeWane of East 6-1,6-1 and Sheboygan North’s Savannah Pond 6-1, 6-0.
Wrapping up the singles action was Haley Feller, who didn’t drop a game against East’s Lauren Milkie 6-0, 6-0 before defeating Claire Rebman of Kimberly 6-2, 6-1.
In the No. 1 doubles flight, Lincoln’s Leah Auchter and teammate Eden Schuette by beating Kaukauna’s Alanna Van Handel and Andrea Wagner 6-0, 6-2.
Michaela Jagemann and Sydney Verbauwhede continued the Ships domination in the No. 2 doubles flight, defeating Sheboygan South’s Sami Hoppert and Emma Sharpe 6-0, 6-1 and taking down Nicole Roberts and Emily Butts of Kimberly 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in only one of two matches to go a full three sets.
Finishing off the sweep in the No. 3 doubles flight was the Ships’ Hannah Ramminger and Justine Jacobs who beat Evie Tobison and Grace Skarlupka of West De Pere 6-1, 6-2. The pair were also involved in the only other three-set match by the Ships, defeating Kimberly’s Haley Nett and Alex Dorn 2-6, 7-6, 6-3.
All Lincoln players will return to action at the sectional meet at the Sports Core in Kohler on Wednesday.
