The Shore Regional boys soccer team are officially a force to be reckoned with in the Shore Conference. Senior striker Jon Junquiera made sure of that after netting the winning goal against Holmdel two minutes into the first overtime period for the 3-2 win on Monday.

Junquiera made a run to the left side of the box and took a through ball from Lucas Montesinos, he took a few dribbles and slid the ball in the lower left corner past Holmdel keeper Mitchell Walier. For Junquiera, it was his 14th goal of the season.

MARLBORO 4, HOWELL 3: Senior forward Dave Nigro scored the game winner in the second overtime period leading the Mustangs (1-3-2) over the Rebels (4-2, 4-2) in a Class A North game.

RB CATHOLIC 1, MONMOUTH 0: Bryan Andrew scored the winning goal of the game with two seconds left in regulation, leading the Caseys (1-6, 1-5) over the Falcons (1-6, 0-5) in a Class A Central game.

IN GIRLS SOCCER

JACKSON MEM. 4, BRICK 1: Maura Peters had one goal and one assist and Tatiana Drye, Chandler Lages and Haley Meyers each added a goal as the Jaguars (6-2, 4-2) defeated the Green Dragons (2-5-1, 2-4) in a Class A South. On Drye’s goal at 36:39, Peters crossed the ball from right to left and Drye slotted the ball in the lower right corner. Jackson Memorial’s Sydney Lavan made three saves and Kelly Jamison made two saves.

MANALAPAN 1, COLTS NECK 0: Catherine’s Traina’s free kick sailed into the box and Mary Grace Monahan headed it into the net as the Braves (3-1-2, 3-1-2) defeated the Cougars (5-2, 4-2) in a Class A North game. Manalapan’s Briane Nealon made 16 saves and Colts Neck’s Lauren Zborovancik made 12 saves.

FREEHOLD 2, OCEAN 0: Cori Ahde’s free kick was planted in the right spot for Lindsay Cerio to head in the ball from six yards out for a 1-0 lead at 27:32. Hayley Rice then crossed the ball on the ground to Sara Grace Johnson, who one-touched it into the lower right corner from 10 yards out. Freehold’s Sara Cobb made two saves and Ocean’s Mackenzie Oates made eight saves.

IN FIELD HOCKEY

HOWELL 1, MANALAPAN 0: Laurie Rossi scored the game-winning goal from a pass from Maria Madsen as the Rebels (2-3, 2-3) outlasted the Braves (3-5, 1-4) in a Class A North game. Howell goalie Jen Jamieson made 16 saves and Manalapan goalie Marissa Lerner made 8 saves.

JACKSON MEM. 2, BRICK 1: Samantha Jerry scored the game-winning goal at 53:33 to lead the Jaguars (4-4, 3-4) past the Dragons (3-5, 2-5) in a Class A South matchup. Kayla Skodmin scored the tying goal after a cross pass from Sarah Vallee at the 50:27 mark.

Brick’s Madison Lukosius scored one goal and goalie Gina Rucci made 14 saves.

FREEHOLD TWP. 1, MIDD. NORTH 0: Lindsay Tobey scored at 15:40 after Tori Boyland passed her the ball and the Patriots (9-0, 6-0) defeated the Lions (4-4, 4-2) in a Class A North game. Freehold Township goalie Lori Brennan made four saves and Middletown North goalie Gabby Tsakiris made three saves.

IN GIRLS TENNIS

TR SOUTH 3, FREEHOLD 2: The second doubles team of Amy MacNeill-Alli Nolte recorded the winning point as the No. 8 seed Indians (8-1) defeated the Colonials in a Shore Conference Tournament round of 16 match.

Toms River South will meet the winner of today’s match between No. 1 seed Holmdel and No. 17 seed Barnegat in the quarterfinals

MANASQUAN 5, MANALAPAN 0: Singles players Abby Duddy, Gabrielle Longo and Brianne Lauria all won their matches, 6-0, 6-0, as the No. 6 seed Warriors (5-3) defeated the No. 11 seed Braves (6-2) in a Shore Conference Tournament round of 16 match.

Manasquan will play at No. 3 seed Red Bank Catholic in the quarterfinals.

RB CATHOLIC 5, RANNEY 0: Jenna Pellegrino (second singles) and the first doubles team of Emma Bauer and Jenna Giordano both won 6-0, 6-0 to lead the No. 3 seed Caseys (8-2) to the win over No. 14 seed Panthers (3-2).

TR NORTH 4, MIDD. SOUTH 1: Kendal Kauffman came up with the clinching point for the No. 4 seed Mariners (8-1) at first singles with her 6-2, 6-2 victory and Shannon Young came up with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at second singles as Toms River North defeated the No. 13 seed Eagles.

Toms River North will host the winner of the match between No. 5 seed Marlboro and No. 12 seed Ocean in the quarterfinals.

IN GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

MANCHESTER 2, COLTS NECK 1: Michelle Cuthbert had 10 kills, seven assists, four aces and two blocks to lead the Hawks (6-1) to a win over the Cougars (4-6) in a nondivisional match
