The St. Mary’s Springs girls and Winnebago Lutheran boys both won the team race and had the individual champion at Green Lake’s Tuscumbia Golf Course.

Springs sophomore Liz Bohn and senior Abby Busse went 1-2 in the girls race. Bohn ron in 15 minutes, 53 seconds, while Busse finished in 16:26. Two other Ledgers finished in the top 12: Paige Casse (11th, 18:16) and Bailey Hoch (12th, 18:16).

Springs coach Shane Smith said the team wasn’t happy with their times, but he said it was a tough course.

Poynette was second, and WLA was third led by Mariah Giffey in fourth with a time of 17:34. Abaigeal Theander was fifth and finished less than a second behind Giffey. Courtney Williams was 14th and Rachel Bock was 16th.

Markesan, CWC and North Fondy ran incomplete teams.

Jenny Schwersinski (28th, 19:23) had the Orioles’ top time, Veronica Sauerbrei paced Markesan (38th, 20:06) and Sarah Roddy (43rd, 20:27) had CWC’s best finish.

WLA barely held off Marshall 61-71 for the team title, and the usual three suspects carried the Vikings. In a common scene, Mitchell Bilitz won the race in 16:18 followed by Chris Van Scyoc of Green Lake, while WLA teammate Eric Bilitz took third in 17:15. Also for WLA, Brady Kollmann took eighth in 18:09.

Springs took seventh as a team, but had two runners in the top 11. Alan Burkart ran in 18:10 for ninth and Andrew Skiff took 11th in 18:16.

Tate Hillmann led sixth-place Markesan with a 13th-place finish in 18:21.

Ryan Easterson led North Fondy/Oakfield in 17th place individually with a time of 18:39.
