Springs' Hintze scores 4 goals in win


The St. Mary’s Springs soccer team got a big game from Zach Hintze in a 6-1 Flyway victory over North Fond du Lac/Oakfield on Wednesday in Fond du Lac.

Hintze had four goals, including the hat trick in the first half, in which the Ledgers took a 3-1 lead.

It was 2-0 Springs before Ben Mand scored for North Fondy at 39 minutes. Hintze made it 3-1 just before half off an assist from Christian Soto.

Hintze scored early in the second half, then Soto added a goal before Hintze capped it off at almost 52 minutes.

Ben Giese had five saves in goal for the Nuts (0-3, 0-1).

Mayville 6

Lourdes/V. Christian 0

Tuesday at Titan Stadium, Mayville’s Bryce Hanke scored four goals, three in the second half as the Cardinals won on the road.

Mayville’s Austin Keller scored first at 7 minutes for what proved to be the game-winner.

Hanke scored 10 minutes later for a 2-0 Mayville lead at the half.

Dustin Gering had the other Mayville goal in the second half. Dominic Cypher had two assists for the Cardinals, and Dominic Nonhoff made a great assist to Gering for the final goal.

Mayville’s Logan Wild made 11 saves as the keeper.


Oakfield 3, Montello 1

The Oaks won Tuesday at home, 25-8, 22-25, 25-15 and 25-15.

Charlotte Pegram led the Oaks with 13 kills, and Dana Swanson added seven to go along with 23 assists. Pegram, Morgan Schaefer and Aly Uttendorfer all served five aces.
