The Fond du Lac girls swimming team finished 10th at the Cardinal Invite on Saturday at the Fond du Lac Aquatic Center.
Courtney Stubbe was the most competitive swimmer for Fondy. The sophomore was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100 free.
In the 50, she swam in 26.09, trailing the winner from Bay Port by 12 hundredths of a second. In the 100, her time of 57.15, was six tenths of a second off the DeForest champ’s pace.
Stubbe was also a part of Fond du Lac’s other top-10 swims — in the 200 and 400 relays.
In the 200, McKayla Drew, Brianna Hartwig, Sydney Jaroch and Stubbe teamed for eighth in 1:51.08. In the 400, it was Hartwig, Drew, Michaela Martin and Stubbe taking 10th in 4:03.46.
Sommer Huhn was Fondy’s top diver taking ninth.
Fondy coach Glen McBride said Jaroch had a big day. The freshman had personal bests in the 50 free and 100 breastroke, and finished in the top-15 in both.
