The Buzz: Bulldogs scored most points since a 75-36 victory over Natchez in 2004. All the Bulldogs’ wins this season have been by at least 14 points. Sophomore QB Gardner Minshew threw for 289 yards (5 TDs) and ran for another in the rout.

The Buzz: Tigers recorded their fourth consecutive shutout in Region 4-4A opener against Whippets. Antravion Jamison had a 23-yard INT return. Tyrone Shorter’s team has outscored its last four opponents 125-0, not allowing a point in September.

The Buzz: A late fourth-down TD pass from Larson Barkurn to JaMarcus Revies helped the Panthers hold off their Pine Belt rivals and move to 2-0 in Region 3-6A. Barkurn threw for 134 yards and 2 TDs and receiver Jessie Jackson caught 3 passes for 96 yards.
5. South Panola
Last week: Beat Olive Branch 28-14. Friday: vs. Columbus
The Buzz: Ladarrius Strong rushed 31 times for 175 yards and two TDs to help the Tigers knock off top-ranked Conquistadors. South Panola is undefeated against in-state opponents and is allowing just 8.5 points a game against its four Mississippi foes.
6. Olive Branch
Last week: Lost to South Panola 28-14. Friday: at DeSoto Central
The Buzz: Conquistadors, who were looking to beat nemesis South Panola for just the second time in the last 16 tries, had their state-best 20-game winning streak snapped and fell from the top spot in the Super 10. Sam Craft, who was injured in the game and didn’t return, threw a TD.
Last week: Beat Hattiesburg 42-13. Friday: at Oak Grove
The Buzz: Wildcats rebounded from loss to Natchez in convincing fashion. Sophomore QB Jmar Smith completed 14 of 22 passes for 229 yards and two TDs, while RB Richard McQuarley finished with 179 yards and a pair of TDs. Boderick Oliver had a pair of INTs to lead the defense.
Last week: Beat Long Beach 43-18. Thursday: vs. Picayune
The Buzz: The Panthers scored on their first three possessions. Kevin Scott rushed for 145 yards and a TD to lead the way. The victory sets up a Thursday night showdown vs. top-ranked Picayune on Fox Sports South in finale of C-Spire’s Bright Lights series.

The Buzz: The Green Wave rushed for 245 yards. Junior RB Aeris Williams had 112 yards and three TDs and QB Tez Lane had 75 yards on the ground. Dvante Randle had a 41-yard interception return.
Last week: Beat Ocean Springs 24-21 (2OT). Friday: at Harrison Central
The Buzz: One week after beating Biloxi in overtime, Warriors pull out another one in double OT over the Greyhounds. Sophomore Rodriquez Moore intercepted a pass in the second overtime to seal it. Warriors’ defense forced four turnovers (two fumbles, two interceptions) and also recorded four sacks.
