Kelsey Dietrich won in two sets at No. 2 doubles but Port Clinton fell to the Sandusky Bay Conference front-runner.
“Kelsey remains undefeated in duel matches,” Redskins coach Lindsay Smith said.
Morgan McGlothlin lost in straight sets, but both came down to a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles for the Redskins (6-3, 4-2). Lexi Fodor and Allison Long won the middle set but lost in three at No. 2 doubles for Port Clinton.
“We knew this match would be very difficult,” Smith said. “Eryn Binder (regular No. 3 singles) was sick, so we had to shuffle the lineup a bit. Morgan fought hard. It could have gone either way. Lexi and Allison did a good job of bringing up their play to win the second set, but in a very even third set Clyde was able to gain the advantage.”
