Kelsey Dietrich (No. 2 singles), Eryn Binder (No. 3 singles), and Katie Schroeder and Tiffany Colston (No. 1 doubles) each won in straight sets for Port Clinton in the SBC.
“Kelsey has really started to mix up her shots and move her opponents around the court,” Redskins coach Lindsay Smith said. “She improves with every match. Katie and Tiffany had a nice win.”
Morgan McGlothlin (No. 1 singles) won the first set before falling to Brittany Mayer in three. Mayer advanced to the semifinals of the SBC tournament and was first-team all-league.
“Morgan played a long match and just couldn’t pull it out in the third set,” Smith said. “Brittany is a good player and chases down a lot of shots that would typically be winners.”
Lexi Fodor and Taylor Steyer lost in three sets, including a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles for the Redskins (10-3, 8-2).
