With no public high school classes scheduled for Friday, four Brevard County football teams are getting a head start on their weekends.
Titusville and Rockledge will host visitors from outside the county, while Eau Gallie will visit Space Coast in a third game to be played tonight.
In the case of the Raiders, this was supposed to be a night and weekend off. However, weather intervened on Sept. 7, and a game that night against St. Cloud had to be rescheduled. Both teams previously had this week off.
Titusville will try to win its second game in a row, but the Terriers are hosting Class 6A’s ninth-ranked team, unbeaten New Smyrna Beach.
One of the lightest Friday night high school football schedules of the year will follow. Only five games will be played locally. Florida Air will play the lone district game this week, hosting St. John Lutheran on Friday at 7.
Class 4A, No. 4 Cocoa will play on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bergen Catholic (N.J.). Most teams will return to district play next week.
