Top-seeded Parkview moves on


Parkview is living up to its billing as the top seed in the Gold Division so far.

The Vikings moved to the semifinal with a 60-43 victory against eighth-seeded Marshfield on Thursday at JQH Arena.

Erik Durham led the way with 21 points for the Vikings, but teammates Darris Perry and Nathan Reichert have emerged this tournament. Perry scored 13 points and Reichert had an efficient 20 points in the win.

Parkview plays Friday in the 7 p.m. semifinal against Bolivar.

Bolivar topped unseeded Reeds Spring, 44-39.

The Liberators were led by Chance Rash, who scored 14 points, all in the second half.

Bolivar won despite shooting 4-for-23 (17 percent) from 3-point range.

Republic topped Hartville 56-40 in a game where the defending Gold champions could not put the Eagles away.

Republic was led by Cody Geiger’s 17 points. Marcus Miller added 16 and Jake Fletcher had 15.

Branson closed the night with a 58-49 victory against Willard. Da’Quan Ervin scored 20 points to lead the Pirates.

Chris Kendrix scored 19 for the Tigers.
