Trinity's Bob Beatty picked to coach in U.S. Army All American Bowl

Trinity High School football coach Bob Beatty has been named the head coach of the East squad for the U.S. Army All American Bowl set for Jan. 5 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The game matches 90 of the top high school seniors from across the country and will be televised live by NBC. Mike Jinks of Byron P. Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, will coach the West team.

Beatty was an assistant coach for the West squad last January.

“I am honored to represent the best of the best in high school football from around the country, and I am equally humbled to wear the colors of the U.S. Army,” Beatty said in a news release. “I look forward to leading the East squad on the field in San Antonio.”

Beatty has a 160-21 record in his 13th season at Trinity and led the Shamrocks to No. 1 rankings in four national polls last year. Trinity, No. 1 in the Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings, is 6-0 this season and has a 31-game winning streak.
