No. 7 West High topped No. 9 Muscatine 8-5 on Wednesday in Muscatine.
Sophomore Collins Marine got his first start and earned the win. Ryan Aller pitched two innings of relief for West.
“He did a good job against a team that has been scoring a lot of runs,” West coach Charlie Stumpff said.
Tanner Wilson hit 4-for-4 with three runs scored.
Reid Bonner had a double and two singles, Declan Doyle had two singles and three RBIs, and Devin Raffensberger had a single, double and scored two runs.
The 2-3-4-5 hitters for West (18-7) had 11 hits.

City High went up 8-0 in the first game and managed to hold onto the lead in a slugfest. Ryan Duncan led City with a triple, two singles and three runs scored.
Jack Frakes had a double and two RBIs, Josh Crosy had a 2-run home run and a single. Grant Simpson got the win, and Tyler Stika the save.
In the second game, Eric Kenney got the pitching win to move to 7-0 on the season and Frakes pitched in relief.
Mitch Wieland, Crosby and Simpson each had two hits for City (18-7).
* WEST BRANCH 17, IMS 7 (5): West Branch won an afternoon battle under the scorching sun.
Brandon Young got the pitching win, and hit 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
Braden Dlhy hit 2-for-3, Bo Bower hit 3-for-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs, Cody Brandt was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and Nevin Tucker hit 2-for-5 with three RBIs for West Branch (14-7).
Dallas Nye hit a grand slam and Nathan Peterson pitched well in relief for IMS (8-7).
* C.R. JEFFERSON 10, SOLON 9 (10): The Spartans were down 9-4 but rallied to tie the game in the top of the seventh Wednesday in Cedar Rapids.
But Solon (6-18) couldn’t get that final run to seal the win, leaving a runner on second in the top of the ninth, and third in the top of the 10th.
“We had our oppurtunities,” Solon coach Keith McSweeney said.
Austin Dall hit 3-for-6 with a double, Chris McNutt hit 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Elijah Kane hit 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
