Boys at Troy
What happened: Clarkston led by six points after the first quarter. Troy battled back and the teams played to a stalemate for the next three quarters. With 6 seconds left in the fourth quarter and Troy trailing, 57-55, senior Ben Horvath sank the game-winning three-pointer.
OVERHEARD: Troy coach Gary Fralick: “Clarkston was a very good team. Coach (Dan) Fife always runs a very good, competitive and strong program. Last year, we were fortunate to defeat them, and we followed it up with another win tonight.”
OVERHEARD II: Fralick: “We are very proud. Our team is undersized, and we have to battle to stay with bigger teams during the game. We got enough rebounds in striking distance and had enough to come away with a victory tonight.”
OVERHEARD III: Fralick: “I don’t have a crystal ball, but we play Divine Child next on the 27th. They are much disciplined and well coached, and the game will definitely be at a slower place as a result.”
TOP SCORERS: Zack Noor led Troy (3-1) with 17 points and Chris Dorsey added 15 points. Jordan Dasuqi scored 23 points for Clarkston (3-2). Nick Owens contributed 22 points for Clarkston.
